Pools on The Grand at Moon Palace Property
The Grand at Moon Palace is a dream for pool lovers, with seven unique pools, an incredible water park, endless activities, and top-notch amenities.
When we stay at The Grand, we like to move around and visit different pools on different days. Keep in mind, access to some pool are exclusively for guests of The Grand at Moon Palace.
We also did not have to do the morning dash to save pool chairs each day. There are so many options and locations and we always found empty chairs at the pool.
1. The Grand Water Park
The Water Park at The Grand is one of the resort’s standout features and a favourite among families traveling with kids.
- Access exclusive to guests of The Grand (passes available for purchase for Nizuc and Sunrise guests)
- Features a lazy river, wave pool, and exciting water slides
- Huge playroom with arcade games, climbers, and indoor mini-golf
- Climbers and splash zones for younger children

With so much to do, the Water Park guarantees hours of fun for kids and adults alike.
2. Cusco Pool at The Grand
The Cusco Pool is a large, inviting pool featuring swim-up bars, hot tubs, and in-water loungers.

- Two large swim-up bars for easy access to drinks
- Close to the beach and hammocks on the beach
- Relaxing background music
- Built-in loungers in the pool for ultimate comfort

- Close to buildings 93 and 94 for added convenience
3. Family Pool at The Grand
The Family Pool actually includes two distinct pools. One of the pools is ideal for those with young children the sloped entry and shallow areas are perfect for toddlers.

- Located in front of the Palace Elite Centre
- Close to buildings 93 and 89
- Next to The Grill, a great spot for a lunch buffet or snacks
- Swim up bar
- Relaxing background music sets the mood
- Stairs provide easy access into the water
- Tables and seating built into the pool
- No in-pool loungers
Family-Friendly Features
- Very shallow section, ideal for little ones
- Barrier separates the kiddie pool from the deeper area
- Perfect for watching kids while still enjoying the pool
- No bar in this side of the pool
4. Activity Pool at The Grand
The Activity Pool is the place to be if you are looking for entertainment, games, and daily activities It’s an ideal pool for families travelling with kids or teens.

- Organized activities like aqua fit, pool games, contests, and entertainment
- Activity staff host events throughout the day
- Raised edge pool with a dedicated swimming lane to swim lengths
- No shallow section
- Upbeat, louder music creates a lively atmosphere

- No in-pool loungers
- Located near buildings 89 and 87
5. Relaxation Pool at Los Tacos in The Grand
The Relaxation Pool at Los Tacos is a peaceful pool, perfect for unwinding with great amenities and food close by.

- Located between buildings 85 and 86
- Plenty of seating, including many covered lounge chairs for sun protection
- In-pool loungers for ultimate comfort
- Relaxing music adds to the tranquil atmosphere
- Los Tacos restaurant and bar located right beside the pool
- No swim-up bar, but excellent poolside service
6. Caribeño Pool at The Grand
The Caribeño Pool is a quieter option, perfect for relaxing near the beach with minimal distractions.

- Located in front of the Caribeño restaurant
- Beside the Beach Club Restaurant on the beach
- Very close to the beach, which includes loungers and cushioned chairs
- Peaceful atmosphere with no music, activities, or entertainment
- Swim-up bar
- Ledge with in-pool loungers for added comfort
7. Unique Day Club Adult-Only Pool at The Grand
The Unique Day Club Pool is the ultimate adults-only (18+) spot, combining entertainment, relaxation, and great amenities.

- The only adults-only pool at The Grand, Sunrise or Nizuc
- Live DJ on select days with upbeat music and entertainment
- Warm pool with several hot tubs
- In-pool seating with ledges to sit on

8. The Grand Terrace – Diamond Elite Pool at The Grand
The Diamond Elite Pool is an exclusive area reserved for Diamond Elite Members, offering two distinct pools with premium features.

- One pool faces the Activity Pool
- The second is an infinity pool with stunning views overlooking the resort
- Covered cabanas for shaded relaxation
- In-pool loungers for added comfort
- Bar service available (not a swim-up bar)
Pools on the Nizuc and Sunrise Properties
Guests staying at The Grand also have full access to the pools at Sunrise, Nizuc, and the Golf Course. These pools have a different layout than those at The Grand.
Instead of many individual pools, the pools at Nizuc and Sunrise stretch across the length of the entire property.
While each pool is very large, they all have their own unique features and sections with different ambiance.
9. Nizuc Pool
The Nizuc Pool is centrally located between The Grand and Sunrise and runs the length of the Nizuc resort.
Nizuc Pool Highlights
- Beach access is available beside the pool in several spots
- Bridges cross over the pool, connecting the lobby, restaurants, and various pool sections
- Two swim-up bars
- A large screen overlooks the pool, perfect for events and entertainment
- Stage in the middle of the pool for musical entertainment
- Event staff organize activities like inflatables and pool games in the centre of the pool
- Snacks available at several restaurants on the pool deck
- In-pool loungers are available in certain sections

- No swim-up bar or in-pool loungers, keeping the area simple and peaceful
While it may not be worth a special trip out to the Golf Course, it’s an ideal spot to recharge after enjoying the nearby golf course or spa.

With so many pool chairs and umbrellas available, we also always managed to find seating at the pool or beach during our stay. No mad dash at 8 a.m. to save a seat. Obviously when the resort is at full capacity (Christmas, March Break and during concerts) you may have to go early if you are particular about where you sit, but there are lots of options to choose from!
