Every summer, I make it a tradition to visit at least one sunflower farm in Ontario. And the best part? There are so many incredible sunflower fields across Ontario, whether you’re looking for the perfect Instagram shot, a fun family outing, or a peaceful summer escape.
Sunflower season in Ontario typically runs from late July to mid-August, but with bloom times varying by farm, it’s always smart to plan ahead. Since the season is short – just 2 to 3 weeks – you’ll want to grab your tickets early to catch the best blooms!
In this guide, I’ll share the best sunflower farms in Ontario to visit this summer, along with tips to help you plan the perfect day among the sunflowers.

Here’s my list of the best sunflower farms near Toronto to visit this summer. Whether you’re looking to snap Instagram-worthy photos, enjoy a fun outing with family and friends (dogs welcome at some farms!), or simply soak up Ontario’s beautiful summer weather, there’s a sunflower field here for you.
Each farm has its own unique charm – from pick-your-own fields and tractor rides to sprawling acres of sunflowers perfect for wandering. Keep reading to find the best sunflower fields in Ontario that match your style and make this summer one to remember!

1. Davis Family Farms (Caledon)
Address: 15770 Mountainview Rd., Caledon East, ON
The Davis sunflower field in Caledon is my favourite sunflower farm near Toronto. With 40 acres of breathtaking blooms and over 3 kilometres of walking trails through the flowers, it’s one of the largest sunflower fields in Ontario – perfect for a summer day trip.
I especially love that this farm has so many creative photo props scattered throughout the fields, including pink couches (yes, please!).
And if you’re a sunset lover, don’t miss Sunset Tuesdays, when the farm stays open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. so you can enjoy golden hour and watch the sun set over the fields.
But there’s more to love than just the sunflowers. On weekends, you’ll find exotic animal demonstrations, pop-up markets featuring local vendors, and even Sunflower Yoga sessions.
Best of all, Davis is pet-friendly, so your furry friends can join you for the fun.
In my opinion, Davis Family Farm is the best sunflower farm in Ontario. If you’re looking for an unforgettable day among the sunflowers this summer, it’s absolutely worth the trip!
2. Sunflower Fields of Markham
Address: 10378 ON-48, Markham, ON
The Sunflower Fields of Markham are the closest sunflower fields to Toronto, making them an easy option for a quick day trip. Scattered across 20 acres of sunflowers, you’ll find several elevated viewing platforms that offer an incredible bird’s-eye view of the bright blooms.
In fact, I thought this farm had one of the best overall views of any sunflower field I’ve visited. They also offer sunset hours, so you can plan your visit later in the day to capture some truly beautiful golden-hour photos.
For those near Toronto, this is an ideal spot to snap gorgeous photos of the sunflower fields without having to drive far.
You’ll also find a few fun props throughout the farm, including swings and a tractor. That said, this is a simple, no-frills sunflower farm – it’s all about enjoying the flowers!
There aren’t any refreshments on-site, and facilities are limited to a single mobile toilet, so I recommend bringing water, snacks, and sunscreen. If you need a quick bite before or after your visit, there’s a Tim Hortons and Wendy’s just a few minutes away. Keep in mind that the parking lot is fairly small and can fill up quickly on busy days.
If you’re looking for a beautiful and convenient sunflower field in Ontario close to the city, this one is definitely worth a visit.
3. B’More Farm and Sunflower Maze (Whitby)
Address: 6900 Country Ln #43, Whitby, ON
If you’re looking for a fun and family-friendly sunflower farm to visit this summer, B’More Farm and Sunflower Maze in Brooklin is a hidden gem in Durham Region. With a six-acre field featuring over 100,000 sunflowers in full bloom, it’s the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon.
The farm is packed with thoughtful touches for visitors. You’ll find plenty of selfie spots and seating areas throughout the fields – from swings and Adirondack chairs to playful props like bathtubs – and even sticks you can use to steady your phone or camera for timed photos.
It’s also a great choice for families, with a kids’ play area and a petting zoo to keep little ones entertained. And if you’re visiting with your pup, good news: the farm is pet-friendly!
One of the highlights here is the annual Sunflower Market, where you can browse goods from over 48 local artisans and food vendors. It’s a festive atmosphere with live entertainment, great eats, and of course, the sunflower maze to explore.
Located just 15 minutes from Markham, Oshawa, or Pickering, B’More Farm makes for an easy and fun day trip. Keep an eye out for sunset yoga sessions, paint nights, and special market weekends throughout the season – there’s truly something for everyone.
4. The Sunflower Farm (Beaverton)
Address: 24430 Sideroad 17, Beaverton, Ontario
The Sunflower Farm in Beaverton is home to Ontario’s only sunflower-shaped trail, winding through a large 20-acre sunflower field – one of the largest in Durham Region. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for more than just a stroll among the blooms, as the farm now hosts a full calendar of fun events throughout sunflower season.
In addition to exploring the sunflowers, you can take part in activities like cooking demos, floral workshops (including special options for kids), line dancing, a classic car and truck show, drag show and dance night, and the always-popular Blooms & Brews event. Note that most special events require pre-purchased tickets.
If you’re visiting over the August Long Weekend, be sure to check out their huge vendor market, with over 80 local vendors. My plan this year is to visit during the market and stick around for extended sunset hours on Saturday and Monday – the perfect time for golden-hour photos.
And a quick note: if you’re searching for The Sunflower Farm’s former Lindsay location, it closed after the 2023 season, so plan your visit to the Beaverton farm instead.
5. Pingle’s Farm Market (Hampton)

Another one of my favourite farms near Toronto is Pingle’s Farm Market. In fact, Pingle’s is a great spot to visit in multiple seasons – they also have one of Ontario’s newest tulip farms, which I featured in my post about the best tulip farms in Ontario.
In 2024, Pingle’s diversified their Sunflower Experience into three separate flower fields that also include wild flowers and lavender in addition to sunflowers. The new layout means you’re free to wander through the fields in any order, stopping to enjoy whichever blooms catch your eye.
No matter when you visit during the season, there will always be flowers in peak bloom to admire and photograph. What I particularly love about Pingle’s is that it’s a pick-your-own flower farm. Not only can you admire and take photos among the flowers, but you can also pick your favourites to bring home.
Tickets for this popular sunflower field in Ontario do sell out, so I highly recommend booking in advance. Hope to see you there this summer!
6. JP Niagara Tulip Experience (Niagara Region)
Address: 230 A Tice Road, Pelham, ON
If you’ve visited JP Niagara for their popular spring tulip experience, here’s a fun surprise – they also plant a beautiful sunflower field each summer! It’s amazing to see how this farm transforms from tulips to sunflowers in just a few short months.
Admission includes five sunflowers or zinnias that you can cut and take home – a nice bonus for flower lovers. The field is also full of charming photo ops, from a painted sunflower piano to a windmill and an adorable hot air balloon display.
This is a perfect spot to pack a picnic and enjoy the sunshine. The farm provides plenty of tables and chairs so you can relax right among the blooms. Just note that BBQs and alcohol are not permitted, and dogs are not allowed at this location.
If you plan to cut your own flowers, you can bring your own cutters or borrow one on-site with a small deposit. Parking is free, and while walk-ins are welcome, I recommend booking tickets ahead of time – especially on sunny weekends when the field is at its best.
7. Campbell’s Cross Farm (Caledon)
Address: 3634 King Street, Caledon, ON
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, Campbell’s Cross Farm might just be the perfect remedy. Located only about 30 minutes from downtown Toronto, this sunflower wellness farm is designed to help visitors slow down, reconnect with nature, and leave feeling rejuvenated.
More than 700,000 sunflowers stretch across 30+ acres here, creating a truly breathtaking backdrop for a wide range of wellness-focused activities. During the month of August, the farm hosts everything from sunrise and sunset yoga classes to meditation sessions, sunflower pick & paint classes, and more.
There’s also a brand-new on-site café and an ice cream truck – perfect for a post-yoga treat or a relaxing break between exploring the fields.

Each summer, Brantwood Farms hosts their Sunflower Festival in August. Visitors can take a wagon ride through the farm to the 4-acre sunflower field and pick three of their own flowers to take home to enjoy!

9. Andrew’s Farm Market and Winery Sunflower Kingdom (Milton)

Andrew’s Farm Market & Winery is a large farm with everything you need to enjoy a day of fun at the farm. The farm offers acres of pick-your-own fruits, flowers, and vegetables.
Sunflower Kingdom is a sunflower field tucked away in a secret spot on the farm that is only accessible by tractor ride. Take a walk through the beautiful blooms, climb Straw Mountain, and catch a glimpse of the sunflowers from above.
Don’t forget to snap some photos at the variety of photo stations and lookout points. The Sunflower Kingdom has a range of sunflowers, from 3 feet to 12 feet tall, making the experience truly unforgettable.
10. Round Ranch (Elmvale)
Address: 1922 County Rd. 92, Elmvale, Ontario
If you are travelling from Toronto, this farm is a little further away, but it is well worth the trip! Not only does Round Ranch have a fantastic 10-acre sunflower field, but there are over 25 other activities you can participate in at the farm.
From a 500’ Slip’n’Slide to a petting zoo, ziplines, a ropes course, a huge playfort, and more, it’s easy to spend the whole day here, making it well worth a drive from Toronto!
11. Dixie Orchards (Inglewood)
Address: 14309 Dixie Rd., Inglewood, Ontario
At Dixie Orchards in Inglewood, the sunflower fields are an expansion of the farm. Visitors will enjoy the corn maze, straw jump, and wagon ridges. There is a giant picture frame for a great photo op, and they have a small petting zoo and a small country store. Reservations are recommended.
12. Robintide Farms (Maple)
Location: 2720 King Vaughan Rd, King City, ON
If you’re looking for a simple and cheerful sunflower walk close in King City, just north of Vaughan, Robintide Farms in Maple is a lovely option.
Throughout the sunflower field, you’ll find multiple photo spots designed for both kids and adults – perfect for a fun family outing or a casual summer photo session. There are also playful props scattered around the field to make your visit even more memorable.
Located just north of the city, this is an easy sunflower day trip from Toronto and surrounding areas.
13. Bragg Farms (Bowmanville)
Location: 3048 Concession Rd. 3, Bowmanville, Ontario
This 150-year old working farm opens two sunflower fields that bloom back-to-back, extending the sunflower season at this farm. With daily doggy walks, sunflower yoga, and sunset hours, this farm is another excellent location to capture those glorious sunflower pictures!
Frequently Asked Questions: Visiting the Sunflowers in Ontario
Sunflower season is typically mid-July through mid-August. Peak bloom time for sunflowers is only 2-3 weeks, so you’ll have to plan your trip to the farm accordingly. Each farm usually indicates when their sunflowers are expected to bloom. Times can vary from farm-to-farm based on when they initially planted the sunflowers.
Some farms welcome dogs and others don’t. Farms, such as Davis Family Farm, Pingle’s, and Campbell’s Cross Farm all allow dogs. Other farms, such as Bragg Farm and The Sunflower Farm only allow pets on certain days or at certain times. And some farms don’t allow them at all. It’s best to do your own research before you bring your dog with you to your next trip to the sunflower fields!
In most cases you can purchase sunflowers at the farm, but not all of the farms allow you to pick your own. Pingle’s Farm, Campbell’s Cross Farm, Sunrise Flower Farm, and Brantwood Farms allow you to choose-your-own sunflowers. Other farms do not allow you to pick the flowers at all – so depending on what’s important to you, you will want to do your research before you finalize your plans.
My two favourite sunflower fields near Toronto are Davis Family Farm and Sunflower Fields of Markham. Davis sunflower fields are the largest fields, have the most photo props, and is pet-friendly. The Sunflower Fields of Markham are close to the city of Toronto, has great observation decks, and stay open late enough to capture the sunsets over the sunflower farm.
